Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I have been busy doing projects around the house over the last week, hoping to beat the cold weather. As you saw earlier I finally got the front porch complete and today I swapped out the kitchen sink. Even though we have only lived in the house for about 5 months, my wife wanted a different sink. That project took my about 4.5 hours and a trip to Lowes.
Also we have been busy decorating the house for Christmas. Once we get done I will post a few pictures. It is our first Christmas in the new house.
Here is the before sink and after the sink.

Happy Easter everyone. What did you do to Celebrate Easter? My boys, 5 and 8 years old, were up early because they knew that the Easter Bunny would be visiting and they would be getting gifts. It was a Lego Easter for my boys. They just love the Lego toys and games, and most of the toys they can put together themselves.
We went to church this morning to celebrate Jesus rising from the grave. What a glorious day. My boys understand that this is the most important reason for Easter.
Have a Happy Easter!

Have you ever thought that if you could build your own house, how you would build it to fit you? I am doing just that. I started building my own house May 26, 2006.
I have been building this house with my father in law, contracting out work that we were not comfortable doing ourselves. We both have full time jobs, so we have only been working on the house in the evenings, weekends and vacation days.
We are finally almost done. We should be moving in around the first of the summer. I am taking two weeks of vacation to try and finish up a bunch of unfinished things.
For the last several months I have been working on oak hardwood stairs. I have done some small wood working projects in the past, but nothing on this scale. I will post photos once I am done.
More to come later, just a quick update on what I have been doing.

Time flies when you are having fun. I have been in the process of building my own house for the last 5 years and I hope we will be able to move in this summer. I am needing to finish the hardwood stairs, have water hooked up, and have the septic installed. There are still a lot of little things that need done as well, but most will get done after we move in I think.
I have been creating a website for my jobs employee’s club. I am using Drupal and have learned a lot while building this website. My two younger boys have been playing basketball over the last month and a half. The last game is this weekend, so my evenings will be free again to work on these other two projects.I have been wanting to start building Windows Phone 7 apps, and hope to once we get settled in the new house. Sprint just announced that they will have a WP7 device on March 20, 2011.I have been trying to decide if I want to get a WP7 device or an HTC EVO 4G Android device. Both have strengths, which makes it very hard to make up my mind. I have always been a Microsoft user since PocketPC’s back in 2000.I have been trying to teach myself C# in what free time I can find, so I could write apps for WP7.
Enough rambling for now. That’s what happens when I don’t write for awhile.
Till next time.

Thanksgiving. A time to be thankful. I am thankful for my family, my job, my friends, and my health. We will be going to my younger brothers house for Thanksgiving dinner today. One of my cousins and his family will be there, along with my grandma. It will be a wonderful day.
Happy Thanksgiving to all.

There is Facebook that I could write things on so that my friends could read, but there is kind of a limit to the number of characters one has without having to click the “more” link to read the rest of the post. And I have a Facebook account, and once I stopped playing the games, I just didn’t visit there much. And I have a Twitter account, but 140 characters doesn’t go very far.
I actually don’t post many things to either. It is a time thing. There are days and weeks that will go by before I really have something to say, like now. Well, now is an exception because this is a new venture for me, so it is kind of like a new toy.
Anyway, about me. I have a Beautiful wife and three wonderful kids. I am still working a full time job, managed to miss the layoffs. I really like technology, and am really interested in programming. Health and fitness is another area I enjoy. I ran my first 5K at the end of Oct. 2010. I lost 45 lbs. getting ready for that run. And all I want to do is find another time to run.
I started programming in Microsoft Access about 8 years ago, and I was hooked. Now I am trying to get into Drupal and PHP, and really want to create a program for Windows Phone 7. Time is not my friend though. I don’t much time at the computer to learn a programming language. But that has not stopped my desire to want to learn.
Posts here will be when I have time. There are days I may have a lot to say, and weeks or months when I don’t.

Today I got to see my youngest in preschool sing and dance. Well, dance as well as preschoolers can dance, and have a small Thanksgiving brunch with him and his classmates.
After that, it was off to eat a Thanksgiving lunch with my other son who is in 3rd grade. Now, for a school lunch I was impressed. It tasted delicious, and there was a lot of food on my tray. I think I should of asked for the kid size and not the adult size lunch.
The rest of my day will be finding Christmas decorations. No big tree this year, just a small one and then some decorations around the house. I think while I clean the gutters outside I will hang lights. The boys like the lights, and so do I ;).
